David Phy received his DMA from the University of Illinois in 2010 while studying with trombone icon Jim Pugh. He has performed with stars such as The 4 Tops, The Temptations, Monica Mancini, Marvin Hamlisch, Boswer from Sha-Na-Na, Charo, Barry Williams, and Ben Vereen. He spent time as a cast member of the Emmy Award winning stage show Blast! and was the Lead Trombone and featured soloist for the 2010-2011 national tour of “In The Mood”. From 2002-2006 David Phy performed in venues all over the Vegas Strip including: The Tribute to Frank, Sammy, Joey and Dean at the Greek Isles Hotel and Casino, Trent Carlini as The Dream King at the Hilton Las Vegas, The Palms Hotel Casino,Las Vegas Blue Note Jazz Café and The Las Vegas The House of Blues. His teaching credits include being a guest clinician at the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He is a member of ITA and the local New Orleans Musicians Union and can be heard playing in the many jazz clubs and venues in the New Orleans area
